It's always impressive to receive a letter from your Congressman, especially when he packages it in the official blue folder with gold seal on the front proclaiming U.S. House of Representatives. And it arrives in a large manilla envelope with his "franking" privileges sending it through the US Postal System. Then combine that with the excitement of your CD release, and you can imagine how pleased Liz Seymour was to receive a well-thought-out letter from Congressman Joe Sestak.

Here's what Congressman Sestak wrote to Liz:

On the special occasion of the release of your new CD, I express my admiration for both your remarkable talents and your commitment to our community as you strive to provide aspiring young people interested in the arts with the opportunity to reach their potential.

As a native of Delaware County who has always called this area home, I join your family, friends and local fans in congratulating you on your latest accomplishment. We are inordinately proud to have you as a representative of Swarthmore, the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, and the many organizations to which you have contributed. I want to additionally recognize your family, and specifically your parents Pamela and Charles, for instilling in you the value of service through their involvement in schools, churches, and recreation associations.

With the incredible accomplishments you have attained as a performer, I appreciate that you have maintained such a high level of enthusiasm for staying involved with the places and people that have helped you on your way. This participation includes teaching and directing at the Young People's Theatre Workshop, where you have played many lead roles, and becoming the fifth generation in your family to perform and direct at The Players Club of Swarthmore Theatre.

Unfortunately I have a prior commitment that precludes my attending your CD Release Celebration; however I would be honored to meet you and your family at a time convenient to you.

I look forward to following your impressive career for years to come and wish you the best in all of your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Joe Sestak
Member of Congress
