Liz Seymour and Bapa - WHERE Did She Find This 86-Year Old Actor?
Liz had an idea for our upcoming music video and the results are amazing!
The story is a sweet one (at least as the song goes) that if Liz will only step up to the counter to meet the cute guy working behind it, she will get to know the love of her dreams.
Except where MY mind went, she was off in one of her fantasies and was abruptly shaken from it by a crotchety old guy in line behind her at the coffee shop. He'd snarl, he'd shake his cane at her, he'd even take a swipe at her from behind… all to get her to move ahead so that HE could get his latte.
"Step up to the counter and order" is all he says… but there are more edits in this short segment than in many much longer scenes.
WHERE did she find this guy?
At 86-years old, the former chairman of a major real estate firm, a man who appraised the Penn Central Railroad and the Alaska Railroad, and a leader of industry in the Philadelphia area who used to sit on the Board of the Philadelphia FED, this guy is unbelievably funny.
Old, yes. The cane is his real cane. The clothing is his (though not usually all worn at the same time). And the hat is his - we used his name when coming up with his character's name: Bapa.
Watch now at the outtakes from the principal video photography session on September 13, 2008 at Burlap and Bean Coffeehouse and Roastery on Rt 252 in Newtown Square, PA. The full video will come out closer to the time that Liz's CD is available, but we just couldn't hold this back any longer, he had us laughing so much.
Who is this guy? Where did she find him?
I'm just glad I had the opportunity to direct him and her in a funny, short scene for our major music video!
Ahhhh, what joy!
